The Utah Data Coordinating Center is funded by the EMSC program within HRSA to be the Data Center for the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN). As a comprehensive clinical & data coordinating center, the EDC provides expertise in multi-center research; statistical and other technical assistance with study design and implementation; monitoring of data quality; guidance to ensure that PECARN is compliant with federal regulations concerning human subjects research; communications with Data Safety Monitoring Boards (DSMBs); data security; and downloadable public use data sets after studies are completed.
The EDC provides support to PECARN Investigators from the early concept and grant development stage, through grant submission, funding, execution of clinical studies, manuscript development, and data sharing. EDC faculty and staff are engaged with PECARN Leadership as a voting member of the Steering Committee; provide representation on each of the Network Subcommittees; offer on-going training and education; and support dissemination activities.
